January 2024

Chief's Welcome

The New Year is off and running. We are busy assessing last year’s data as it relates to crime and our community engagement efforts. We are working on our Annual Report, goals and objectives, and reviewing all of our processes and procedures to make certain we have the best culture for our employees and we afford you the best strategic and transparent community services you deserve and expect.

Our agency is also about to go through our Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on-site assessment. Our department has been CALEA accredited since 2010 and has maintained the rating of a “Department of Excellence” due to the hard work and professionalism of the men and women who protect our City each day and night. As I have said many times before, our organization is a work in progress every day and we can’t police our community alone. There is no “Us vs. Them” narrative in Johns Creek when it comes to police-community relations because we are all in this together to make certain we all have a good quality life that everyone can be proud of.

Honored, blessed, and humbled to serve!

~ Chief Mark Mitchell
