Chief's Welcome

As you know, this publication is called, “Cops Connect” and making connections is exactly what our dedicated men and women do each day by supporting the residents we serve. There are many ways we “connect” as a PD team. We have briefings every morning and evening to communicate what happened on the shift before. Supervisors also ask if anyone needs anything in the way of leadership, training, wellness, gear/equipment/technology issues, police vehicle matters, and to make certain all members are on the same page before they go out to protect and engage with our community. We also strive to “connect” with all who live in our city through proactive patrols in your neighborhoods, community outreach events around town, youth programs in our schools, in our parks, and at special events. We also focus to be transparent with you through our robust social media platforms to ensure you know what is going on with your police department, our roadways, any crime or accidents that are impacting our community, and for you to see the face and good work of our personnel who have a purpose each day to meet our Mission of Making a Difference.

So you see, there is more than meets the eye behind the name of Cops Connect. From all of us here at the JCPD, we truly appreciate the connection we have with you and we want you to know how much we value your partnership and support.

Honored, humbled, and blessed to serve!
