Cordata Dog Park Update
On June 12th, several Cordata residents and their furry friends met with Nicole Oliver and Steven Janiszewski of the Parks department to talk about the opportunity for a dog park in Julianna Park.
We are encouraged by the discussion and look forward to the decision in the near future.

Coming to Cordata!
According to a recent article in the Bellingham Herald, the City is getting a second Trader Joe's location. Trader Joe's has filed a permit through the City of Bellingham to include the demolition of offices and a vestibule entrance at the previous location of Bed, Bath & Beyond on Meridian.
Imagine the wonder of going to Trader Joe's and not fighting for a parking space!

We would like to to showcase all the hard work that our neighborhood volunteers are doing to keep our streets clean with an easy, fun and interactive method. We borrowed the the digital forms that are used in Seattle to modify for Cordata volunteers. This is a great way to help keep Cordata clean and welcoming as well as provide a fun little project for your neighbors, HOA/COA, or other groups.
Visit THIS LINK or scan the QR code BELOW to access it. (You may need to enlarge the graphic for the QR code.)
Go ahead and test it out! If you select Clean Up Streets Using "Map (preferred option)" it will ask you to draw a line on the map to represent the area cleaned. The map really is the coolest part, in our opinion.

Greg Hope (Education and Outreach Coordinator for the City of Bellingham) offers the following recommendations on protecting . . .
IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
After a disaster occurs, households commonly submit claims for insurance coverage and seek aid from governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations. These processes are easier and more successful if essential documents and information are prepared, secure, and accessible. These include copies of property insurance policies, health insurance policies and cards, financial accounts, wills, and powers of attorney, and more. It’s also important to document valuables and this can be as easy as a room-to-room tour to take photos or video.

Whatcom Community College is pleased to welcome back RAGNAR to the WCC campus!
RAGNAR is a race organization that creates safe running routes for local runners when running long distances as a team. RAGNAR is hosting the NW Passage Race. This race begins in Blaine and ends in Langley, WA. Along this year’s route one of the many runner exchanges will be held at WCC this Friday, July 12th.
To create a safe and welcoming exchange location, RAGNAR will be using the grass practice field located next the ASB and ORCA field (refer to map). There they will be setting up canopies, tables, food truck and playing music to celebrate the incoming runners and to give encouragement to the outgoing runners.
