National Suicide Prevention and National Recovery Month

 

September is National Suicide Prevention Month and National Recovery Month, during which mental health advocates and community members raise awareness and remove the stigma around suicide prevention and recovery support. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline shared five key ways to make a positive impact, including checking in on loved ones, listening without judgment, ensuring safety, helping them find a support network, and following up.
