THE COMMUNITY STUDENT ART EXHIBITION FOR MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GOES VIRTUAL
Celebrating Visual Arts in Area Schools
St. Joseph, Michigan - The Middle & High School Art Exhibition is back! Each year, Berrien RESA, The Box Factory for the Arts, and Krasl Art Center collaborate to present a professional, juried art exhibition featuring hundreds of artworks by local students. The Community Student Art Exhibition is viewed by thousands of community members and juried by regional art experts, providing students in Berrien and Cass Counties with professional gallery experience and recognition for their creativity and hard work.

This year, we will celebrate the creativity of our youth with a virtual exhibition on view from Monday, June 22 through Monday, August 31, and a virtual reception and awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 23, from 6-7 pm.

Join us at the online reception LIVE on June 23, from 6-7 pm at https://youtu.be/R28ZS44I8G4 to view announcements of the award-winning artists. Juried awards include 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards in the following categories: 2D, 3D, Video, and Collaborative. Sponsor awards include the Sarah E. Cayo Memorial Art Award ($500 cash award), the Emerging Artist Award ($500 cash award to graduating seniors), the Jan Stevens Memory Award ($75 awards in 2D, 3D, & Video categories for Elementary), and Berrien RESA Scholarship Awards ($50 art scholarships for 1 student per school).

Krasl Art Center is a nonprofit art museum and learning center that enriches the lives of people living in or visiting Southwest Michigan by delivering enlightening art experiences through diverse education opportunities, meaningful events, and high quality exhibits and collections. KAC’s mission is to inspire meaningful change and strengthen community through the visual arts. To learn more, visit krasl.org.
Regional Education Service Agencies (RESAs), sometimes called Intermediate School Districts (ISDs), exist to serve the common needs of their constituent local school districts. There are 56 RESAs/ISDs in Michigan, and every school district is part of one. Their primary mission is to foster efficiency and innovation while optimizing the use of public funds. By pooling resources and providing services regionally, RESAs provide cost-effective, high-quality assistance to local school districts.

Berrien Regional Education Service Agency (Berrien RESA) proudly offers educational services to Berrien County’s 15 public school districts, 24 parochial and private schools and four charter school academies.

In addition to responding to traditional customer needs, Berrien RESA is often called on to lead. Regional consultants work with experts across the state and nation to “bring home” best practices in teaching, state-of-the-art technology, the latest research and new ideas for system efficiency for Berrien County school districts. This proactive approach keeps local districts ahead of the learning curve and able to respond quickly to changes. Berrien RESA is a dynamic organization with an eye toward the future. As customer needs change, Berrien RESA rigorously explores new avenues for success.
The Box Factory for the Arts exists to support established and emerging artists and to enrich the surrounding community through a multi-disciplinary, collaborative and vibrant gathering place that nurtures, celebrates and promotes all creative arts.
