Seasons of Self-Care: Summer
Seasons of Self-Care is a 4-part program which encourages participants to explore the year through a delightful set of seasonal signals focused on self-care. Instructor Heidi Weiker led participants through 4 sessions of winter and 4 session of spring self-care.
Now, join Heidi to engage in the season that invites us to celebrate life in rhythm with the outdoors. Nature calls us to the outside so that we can expand our self-care practices ‘under the summer sky.’ Be inspired: to realize the natural light in and of all imperfection; to reclaim (or claim for the very first time) the exuberance, lightness, and playfulness of our summer days and nights; and to regenerate and radiate a sense of awe and hope.
Whether you are a returning participant or will be joining for the first time, we invite you to participate in Seasons of Self-Care: Summer this August. If you did not participate in the winter and spring rounds of this program, however, we encourage you to view the recordings on this page ahead of the Seasons: Summer start date of Tuesday, Aug. 1.
Monthly Wellness Incentive recipients seeking a Stress Management Wellness Program Incentive for this program would need to participate in 2 rounds of Seasons.
Tuesdays, August 1-22, 12-1 pm, via Zoom

HEALTHY BACKS & BODIES™: C∙O∙R∙E™ Essentials for The Office Environment
Even the most impactful, solid, ergonomically-sound work setup is only as effective in prevention as the user's knowledge is of how to 'inhabit' their body and position and move it correctly within that ergonomic set-up.
Join Tanya (Weiker) Snowden for this 8-week program during which she will share the fundamentals of safe, healthy, efficient positioning and movement. Participants will learn simple actions and movements that they can employ to assist in eliminating back pain before it begins.
Tuesdays, August 15 - October 3, 12-1 pm via Zoom
This program will also include optional, in-person check-in opportunities with Tanya. Details about the check-in opportunities will be shared with participants.

Monthly Wellness Incentive recipients who participate in at least 7 of the 8 Zoom session can earn a $100 Wellness Program Incentive in the General Wellness category. Attest to completion in HCM by Nov. 30. | |

Interested in a Self Defense Class? Let us Know!
The Wellness Program is partnering with the Division of Public Safety to offer an 8-week Personal Self Defense course for CWRU faculty and staff to launch during the Fall 2023 semester. This program, during which participants will learn how to defend themselves and others from bodily harm against hostile actions, will be delivered in person on CWRU's campus, weekly, for 40 minutes around lunch time/midday.
With the goal of gauging the level of interest in such a program, we ask that our community of faculty and staff indicate if this is a program they would be interested in and available to attend this fall or in the future. Please use the link below to express interest.

Did You Know?
Recordings Are Available for Most Wellness Programs
We want to remind faculty and staff that we record the majority of our programs that are offered via Zoom and make the recordings available to everyone who is registered. So, even if you cannot attend the live sessions each week, you can still participate on your own time via the recordings and receive credit toward a Wellness Program Incentive.
We hope that this option increases the feasibility of participating in multi-week programs for university faculty and staff with busy schedules. Please feel free to reach out to us any time and ask if recordings will be available for a program in which you are interested.
