The New York State Economic Development Council has released an updated Budget Summary, which includes significant investments in tourism by providing $58.5 million for the State's robust tourism and advertising campaigns, an additional round of $15 million in competitive funding through the Market NY Program, and matching grants to assist counties and municipalities in local tourism efforts, the I Love NY marketing campaign, and other targeted investments.

NOAA Brings Erie Canal Nautical Charts into the Digital Era |
Paper charts of the Erie Canal are in the process of being transformed to electronic navigational charts. The Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which has maintained and updated the charts since the early 1970’s, are converting the charts to digital format and will make them available as electronic navigational charts. Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor provided images to accompany NOAA's ArcGIS StoryMap about the process.
