IEEE Corporate Contract Deadlines: Important 2021 Year-End Dates to Know
|
|
It is that time again where IEEE Finance begins to close out the fiscal year. As a result, and as part of IEEE’s regular annual process, all contracts that require a signature by 31 December 2021, and subsequent purchase orders, need to be submitted to the IEEE Legal and Compliance (L&C) Department by Friday, 5 November to meet the deadline.
To allow for the pre-work that is typical, conference and event-related contracts should be submitted for review by Friday, 29 October.
MCE will make every effort to support you so that contracts received on or before this date are shared with the L&C team by their deadline, sent for signature, and then submitted to Strategic Sourcing before the Finance end-of-year processing deadline of Friday, 10 December. Contracts submitted after these dates will continue to be processed as quickly as possible in the order in which they are received.

MCE Trendspotting: Saying "Goodbye" to Email Open Rates

A big change has arrived for those of us that use email marketing to promote IEEE conferences and events. In September 2021, Apple Mail updated their Privacy Protection to give users the option to share if and when they opened emails.

As a Conference Administrator, I am responsible for the intake and processing of conference application submissions, conference publication form submissions, & post-conference proceedings content submissions. In my role, I also participate in ICX-related enhancements, troubleshooting, and testing, hoping to provide the best possible experience for our organizers and volunteers. Some projects to which I have contributed over the past few years include the IEEE MTT endorsement model in ICX, Virtual Conference enhancement in ICX, & Disaster Functional Recovery Testing.
I started working at IEEE as a temporary employee in the IT department in February of 2007. In May of 2007, I joined IEEE MCE as a full-time employee as a Production Assistant. In that role, my responsibilities were to manage the Print on Demand process, which included relationship building with our vendor, Curran Associates. A few years later, I was promoted into my current Conference Administrator role. I enjoy being on the front lines of the IEEE Conference customer service business, as the point of contact for organizers and sponsors to assist with their IEEE sponsored conference needs. It is an honor to work with so many knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers, staff, and leaders. I feel very lucky that I work with such a wonderful team! I’m looking forward to future advancements within MCE so that I can continue to grow and contribute to the benefit of our conference business.
