Primary Election Day in Delaware is a few short weeks away on Thursday, September 6. The outcome will determine the candidates seen on the ballot in the General Election on November 6. With four State Senate retirements and ten House retirements this year, 2018 will be remembered as the year with a change of about 20 percent in the General Assembly.

A New Role for DEFAC

The history and purpose of the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council (DEFAC) is well known. It was established in 1977 by Executive Order by Governor Pete du Pont to provide oversight, review and non-partisan recommendations regarding State revenues and expenditures. Its membership has been a mix of business and community leaders, academics, and government professionals knowledgeable about the State budget and economy.
