CORRECTION: May Enrollments & New Funding Opportunity

ELC Provider Update: May 1, 2020

You've recently received an update about May 2020 enrollments. We have provided some additional information below to clarify details from our previous communication. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Dear Child Care Provider:

This email contains information about May 2020 enrollments and an important message from the Business & Leadership Institute (BLI) for Early Learning about an immediate funding opportunity for child care providers through the Paycheck Protection Program. This opportunity is open to ALL child care providers.

MAY 2020 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

As of today, we have received a verbal update from the Office of Early Learning (OEL) regarding June payments for May services/enrollments.

Here's what we know:

OEL will pay for May enrollments the same way the April payments will occur.
CLOSED SR/VPK providers must complete an OEL questionnaire in order to receive the June payment.
According to OEL, the questionnaire will be available in the portal next week.
OEL has advised the deadline to complete the questionnaire will be May 15.
CLOSED SR/VPK providers must fill out the questionnaire in order to receive the June payment for May services/enrollments.
OPEN SR/VPK Providers do not need to complete the questionnaire.
This will not impact your May payment for April services/enrollments (regardless of whether you are opened or closed).
The ELC will continue to reimburse SR providers for parent copays for May enrollments.

As new updates become available, we will be sure to forward to our providers. If you have any questions, please contact your Provider Reimbursement Specialist.

URGENT OPPORTUNITY TOMORROW

IMMEDIATE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM: Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) HAS GENEROUSLY OFFERED TO ASSIST THE CHILDCARE COMMUNITY

Please note: This funding opportunity is open to ALL Child Care Providers

This new round of funding will be depleted very quickly. We are offering you an opportunity to work directly with BBIF to submit an application for the Paycheck Protection Program. I have attached a link to all the necessary documents. Go to the application link, start with the PPP Checklist to review the required documents and start the application process NOW. Join us on

tomorrow, Saturday May 2nd at 3pm for a BLI ZOOM Virtual Meeting. BBIF representatives will walk us through the loan process followed by Q&A. BBIF will also respond to BLI applicants through email or phone and you will have a direct regional contact.

To qualify you must certify payroll expenditures. Home based owners as sole employees can apply. If you do not have 2019 formal tax documents then 2019 documents certifying payroll, IRS Forms 940 /941, payroll records such as quarterly payroll statements and taxes paid to employees on a quarterly basis will suffice.

This program is available for nonprofits, home based and center based childcare operations. Review your qualifications on the checklist that is included in the link below. We cannot guarantee loans as if you turn in an application that is incomplete, missing documents or inaccurate you will not get into the automated system or will get declined. These funds will be

dispersed on a first come basis. We have been advised that you should apply by Monday as these funds will be depleted quickly.

Those who have gone through BLI programming should have your financials in order. Once you apply or if you need special attention let our office know and we will forward your name and contact information directly to BBIF to be assured you get the attention you need.

3) PPP Loan Worksheet (1 page)

Two other documents include PPP Checklist and Maximum Loan Calculator to help you complete your loan process. Please start with the PPP Checklist to be sure you qualify. Then complete the documents to the best of your ability prior to our ZOOM Virtual Meeting on Saturday at 3pm so you can ask questions directly to BBIF representatives.
