President's Message
Dear Friends,

Interested in stepping into a new leadership role? Ready to apply some simple tools to transform yourself and your team? This month, our educational programming resumes with a two-part series beginning with our AFP Emerging Leaders hosting an experts panel discussion covering how to step into and thrive in a leadership role. Then on August 24, AFP Global Board Member Michelle Edgerton will continue the conversation to propel and sustain you in a leadership role so you excel even further with confidence.

Scroll down to register for these events and check out our other upcoming activities!

Yours in fundraising,
Christina Moore-Salinas, CFRE

Call for Nominations 2023 AFP Board
NOMINATE YOURSELF OR A COLLEAGUE BY SEPTEMBER 9, 2022!

Looking for a chance to get leadership experience? Want to learn about an area outside of your daily duties? Want to work with a wonderful group of committed and fun individuals? Then nominate yourself or a colleague to take an active role on the AFP chapter board. We get better when people say yes!

And it’s a guarantee that you will learn something new and have great support while you serve. Submit a nomination form for you or someone else who wants to learn and do more to advance the nonprofit cause. Nominations are due on SEPTEMBER 9, and our 2023 slate of officers will be presented to the membership in October.

The Greater Dallas Chapter of AFP is among the larger chapters nationally, with members representing the full range of nonprofits, large and small, in our community. Out chapter stays vibrant because it has consistently attracted high quality chapter leadership to craft and execute our strategic plans, educational programs, webinars, mixers, the annual National Philanthropy Day celebration, and a number of partner meetings designed to leverage our membership and create new relationships within the non-profit community.

Please consider being part of this exciting team!

August Luncheon Meeting
"I've Been Promoted, Now What?"

Wednesday, August 24, 2022, In-Person Only
  • 11:30 AM Networking
  • 12-1 PM Luncheon Program

People are promoted for performing at a high level in their organization, contributing to the mission and visions, and exceeding the expectations of their leadership team and stakeholders. However, what got you to the promotion may not be the thing that sustains or propels you in the new role. You now need to employ new knowledge, skills, and abilities to excel in your new role with new responsibilities and accountabilities. This session will give you the tools and insight you need to step into your new role with the confidence you need to be successful.
DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION HAVE A POSITION TO FILL OR PROGRAM TO PROMOTE? If you're registered for the August luncheon program, you can bring flyers to share with your fellow fundraisers.
WE ARE IN-PERSON ONLY FOR AUGUST at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Members and non-members are welcome. Discounted rates for emerging professionals age 30 and under available.

AFP Now logo
Contribute today to our annual AFP NOW campaign! 70% of funds raised stays right here with your chapter to invest back in programming and activities. The remaining 30% of funds are donated to AFP Foundation for Philanthropy to support global efforts in our fundraising profession.
I support the AFP Now! Campaign because as a fundraising professional, I have personally seen the impact that individuals within our profession are able to have in our partnerships and the communities that we are engaged with each and every day. Supporting this campaign is an investment that has the most significant return, which is long-term community impact. When we invest in ourselves and each other as doers and lifelong learners, amazing things can happen! - Christine Heskes, Associate Director of Advancement, The Lamplighter School.
Your Greater Dallas Chapter was recently recognized by AFP Global for being one of only 20 chapters reporting nationwide that 100% of their board members have made a gift. If every chapter member will commit to a making a gift we could also achieve 100% member participation. We are grateful for your support at any level that works for you.
