This newsletter is going out to Senior Families only.  The purpose is to consolidate as much Senior information that we can.  We have tried to gather as much data that Senior parents would want to know about these months leading up to Graduation Day, 5/21.  Please continue to read the monthly PTSA eNews that comes out the 3rd Tuesday of each month for reminders and additional information.

This rehearsal at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is MANDATORY if a student will be participating in the graduation ceremony.
Tickets for the Graduation Ceremony
Seniors will be given their graduation tickets AFTER the graduation rehearsal ONLY if they are on the list noting that they have passed all their classes AND paid all their fees prior to the rehearsal.  Seniors who still have outstanding parking fees or any other fees associated with Centennial will not be issued tickets until the school has been notified that the fee is paid.  Students are given a set amount of tickets for guests to attend the ceremony - this year it is 12 tickets.
The Baccalaureate Service will be held on Sunday, May 6 at Mt. Pisgah Church, North Campus (2850 Old Alabama Road) from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A short reception will follow.  Baccalaureate is a non-denominational worship service intended to encourage, challenge and inspire graduates as they move from high school to their future endeavors.
Graduates should wear their graduation gowns to the service (no caps).
Girls - wear a nice dress with dressy shoes or sandals.
Guys - wear dark dress pants, white collared shirt, tie and dress shoes.
Graduates are to be at Mt. Pisgah no later than 4:30 PM and will gather upstairs in the balcony until the service begins. Formal invitations were sent out in late March to all graduates. There is no limit to the number of guests. All are welcome. The committee will ask for a $20 donation to defray the costs of the service.  Checks can be made out to CHS Baccalaureate Service and can be sent to:  Richard Rowlands,  1010 Branchwind Close, Roswell, GA 30076 -3367.
Please send questions to Barb Crowe ( ).
Graduation Cords
Club sponsors are responsible for graduation cords. Have your student check with their club sponsor about whether they have graduation cords and what the cost is.  Many clubs raise money for their club by selling graduation cords.  Graduation cords are worn around a student's neck over their graduation gown for the graduation ceremony.
Honors cords and pins will be distributed at the Graduation Rehearsal.

Senior Treats
The Centennial PTSA and our wonderful Senior Parent Volunteers have been continuing the 3 year tradition of giving Senior Treats throughout the year to ALL of our Senior Knights. There will be a couple of more treat days coming up! Congrats to all Seniors - you are almost there! Thank you to all Volunteers who make this event happen!
Senior College Acceptance Day

We will be having senior college acceptance day in May this year.  This is an exciting Centennial tradition when all seniors have an opportunity at the microphone to share with their classmates their plans for next year. The finalized date and time will be announced when finalized.  We are encouraging parents and families to attend this informal and fun ceremony.  It will be held in the CHS Auditorium.  Please come support your senior as they announce their plans for the future!

Scholarships and Financial Aid

This is the Financial Aid Form that all colleges require you to fill out prior to receiving your financial aid package from your student's prospective colleges.  You will need your 2016 tax information to fill out this form.  It is fairly complicated so do not wait until the last minute to get this done.  Most college Financial Aid deadlines are right around now.  You can find out more at
HOPE and other Scholarship Info
Fine Arts Foundation
It's not too late to leave a legacy at CHS in honor of your graduate! Any family that joins CHS's Foundation for the Fine Arts at the Gold level will receive a Commemorative Gold Brick for their student, which is placed in the CHS auditorium lobby and permanently honors your child's involvement in the Fine Arts at Centennial High School. Visit to join.
