Dear Parents,
             This has been a short week!  Yesterday, the students were able to livestream the morning mass for Ash Wednesday and  received ashes from either Father John or  Father Matt later in the day.  This begins the period of Lent which not only involves ‘giving up’ but should also include adding activities in areas of need such as helping around the house for example.  
Registration has opened for next year.  We sent home a flyer offering a referral credit for families who refer a new family to Communion of Saints School which results in a registration and enrollment for at least six months of the new family.  We will soon be initiating a marketing campaign with the Fish radio station (95.5) but will need your help to spread the word!  
On Saturday, the faculty and staff will have the opportunity to receive the first Covid shot.  I do not anticipate the need for a school closure on Monday, February 22 unless there are unexpected reactions among the faculty.  However, the next dose is scheduled for March 13.  As I receive feedback from other schools receiving their second dose, I may need to close school on Monday, March 15, due to the possibility that a reaction to the second dose may be stronger 48 hours later.  This would include distance learning as well to give teachers the time to recuperate.

Registration Materials for the 2021-2022 academic year were sent home last week. Electronic copies are available here

Forms and registration fees are due by March 1st. Registration fee: $225 per student. After March 1, space in the classes are not guaranteed.

Open registration for new families will begin March 1st.

EdChoice Expansion & EdChocie- Renewals and Requests
The EdChoice Expansion program opened on Feb. 1 for renewals. Please be sure to sumbit both the form and a copy of a current utility bill.
Click HERE for the Expansion renewal form. These are the updated Income Guidelines for the 21-22 academic year.

The Traditional EdChoice program will not open until March 1. Information and guidelines will be available at that time. If you are renewing your students EdChoice Scholarship, you may submit the renewal and copy of the current utility to the school office anytime. Submissions receieved will be uploaded on March 1.

POWER of the PEN- District Competition Results
Congratulations are in order to the following students who all received a distinction of Honors at the Power of the Pen District Competition in January.

Seventh grade writers: Reiland Kostas and Georgia Kuras.

Eighth grade writers: Gabe Ewen, Brady Foss, Victor Gideon, Jane Kennedy, Meredith Mawby, and Eva Panza.

The eighth grade team placed 8th out of sixteen teams. 

Both Gabe Ewen and Eva Panza have individually advanced to compete in the Regional Competition in March.

Your after-school virtual hub for learning adventures & creative engagement for students grades K-12!

The Lobo Lab is a space for children to experience exciting virtual after-school programming at no cost. JCU students develop and lead 40-minute activities each week to keep children engaged and connected. Choose from a variety of activities such as digital movie making, STEM adventures, virtual tutoring, and more! Activities run from February 15 through April 23, 2021.
