Sr. Thea Bowman: Servant of God Sr. Thea Bowman, an African American and Franciscan Sister ofPerpetual Adoration, is featured in the new film Going Home Like a Shooting Star: TheaBowman’s Journey to Sainthood. Sr. Thea was an inspiring advocate and educator who worked for inclusivity and cultural awareness and against racism in the church andsociety. This new film shares the story of Sr. Thea and the cause for her canonization. Watch the film on YouTube! The film is an excellent choice to educate about Sr. Thea any time of the year, including November, which is Black Catholic History Month.

We are featured on the diocesan podcast!
A few weeks ago, a representative from the Diocese of Cleveland came to COS to record us for the Diocese of Cleveland Podcast: Shepherding Our Schools. The Diocese featured us because we are taking part in the unique afterschool activity, SARCNET. SARCNET is our school’s radio amateur club and you can find out more about it by listening to the Shepherding Our Schools podcast featuring Communion of Saints School. Podcast link.

Congratulations! As our 8 th grade students start to look at and apply to various high schools, we want to congratulate the following students who were named St. Ignatian Scholars! This means they scored 93% or higher on the high school entrance exam for St. Ignatius High School.

Angel Scholarship Fund:
Will you be paying taxes to the State of Ohio when you file taxes in the spring of 2023? Please consider giving some of that money to our school instead. This contribution is at no extra cost to you. It is deducted from the taxes you would owe to the state. This new opportunity can be life changing for our Catholic Schools! Contributions can be designated to go to a Diocesan pool of money or specifically to our school. See announcement from Bishop Malesic and a short video explaining the process.
