PRINCIPAL CORNER

October 31, 2024

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I hope you and your family enjoy a fun and safe night of Trick or Treating! Try to get some rest and don’t eat too much candy!

Holiday seasons are exceptionally busy at school so please be sure to check your student’s Thursday folder- Read the Chronicle and check your texts and emails. We don’t want students to miss anything but as in life- lots of our activities do have deadlines.

Qtr. 1 Report Cards are available on Digital Academy. Please be sure to look them over and sign via DA.

Fall MAP reports were given to parents during conferences. If you did not attend a conference, your students' MAP score report will be sent home in today's Thursday folder. Please be sure to check for it. If you don't recevie a copy, please contact the school office. A Family Guide to MAP Growth is being sent home today as well if you would like more information on MAP testing.

Reading on Grade Level: All students in grades K-3 will receive a letter with information regarding their student MAP reading score and current grade level expectations. Please be sure to check your child's green folder today.

ALL SAINTS’ DAY- Join us on Friday, November 1 as we celebrate our feast day! All students K-8 will attend mass with students participating in portions of the mass. All are Welcome!

Rust Belt Riders-Since 2014, Rust Belt Riders has been working with people and organizations across Northeast Ohio to provide them with a clean and timely alternative to landfills for their food scraps. COS will be starting a composting program in partnership with Rust Belt Riders.  Students will have presentations by the company during their lunch periods on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Jr. High Uniforms:- Tomorrow, November 1 is the start of the dress uniform policy per Fr. Anthony Marshall. Please review the guidelines below:

  • 6th-8th Grade Girls: Your formal uniform (worn in the months of October-March) will now require a quarter-zip fleece, sweater, sweater vest, or cardigan to be worn over a polo. Both the polo and top layer must have the COS logo with the polo tucked in. A reminder that skirts need to be no shorter than one inch above the knee; this requirement will be enforced by all teachers.
  • 6th-8th Grade Boys: Your formal uniform (worn in the months of November-March) will now require a solid-white short- or long-sleeve button down shirt with a solid-colored tie of choice. This shirt is to be worn with khaki or navy blue pants and is to be tucked in with a belt.

We are still collecting clean plastic gallon milk jugs for a Catholic Schools Week activity! Should you have any to donate, please send them with your student. We appreciate your help in creating an exciting learning opportunity for our students!

Angel Scholarship Fund

Remember- all Ohio taxpayers may receive a 100% tax credit against their Ohio Income tax liability for donations to our organization through this fund.

Each of our families can apply for tuition assistance in the form of a scholarship from the Angel Scholarship fund.

Anyone can donate! Feel free to share this with family and friends!
