MLC Choir Housing Sign Up
Wednesday, March 6
The 60-voice strong Martin Luther College Choir will sing at COS during our Lenten Vespers on Wednesday, March 6. We are excited to host these future pastors, teachers, and staff ministers of our Synod.
The choir will need to be housed overnight. You are invited to take a pair of students home with you after church on Wednesday, March 6. Bring them back to COS before 8:00 am Thursday, March 7 so that they can depart for the next stop on their tour. You may host more than one pair. Individual beds are always appreciated, but not required. To volunteer to host students in your home go to cosrock.org/host .
Prayer Pals Brunch
9:30 am Saturday, February 10
All COS women are invited to the next Prayer Pal Brunch on February 10. Current participants will find out who had been praying for them during the last few months, newcomers will learn about how Prayer Pals works. The morning is a fun time to get to know other members of the group. Food will be provided, all you need to do is bring yourself!
Quarterly Meeting

There will be a brief quarterly meeting after the late service today. The agenda consists of usual business: membership actions, reports.
Youth Group Game Night
5:00 pm Sunday, January 28
Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to a game night in the youth center for another game night. Dinner provided. Sign up at cosrock.org/youth.

Lent
February 14-March 30
The important seasons of Lent is fast approaching. As always, COS adds a series of special 6:30 pm midweek services to the worship schedule called Lenten Vespers. They are “in addition to” the regular weekend services, with their own themes and mood. The first one is Ash Wednesday with its focus on mortality, an optional imposition of ashes prior to the start of worship, special music, Holy Communion. Four of the remaining five Wednesdays of Lent will delve into the theme “Baptized into His Death.” Luther’s Small Catechism and members of the 8th Grade Confirmation Class will assist us. These services will be about forty minutes in length. The middle Wednesday service on March 6 will be led by the Martin Luther College Choir. It will last over an hour.
You are encouraged to block out these Wednesday evenings for focusing on your Savior in worship and fellowship (see below).
Lenten Suppers
5:30 - 6:20 pm Wednesdays, Feb 14-March 20
Prior to each of the Lenten Vespers is a Lenten Supper. While not having to make supper on a night you are also coming to church is a convenience, the real purpose of the Lenten Suppers is fellowship. Eat when you arrive. Eat with your COS sisters and brothers. Different menu each week. Different church groups cooking each week. Free. Freewill donations accepted to defray cost.
