VBS on Sunday Mornings:
July 16
th at 9:15 come to the church basement for VBS on Sunday. The time will start with singing. The VBS program this year is a Mighty Fortress. We will sing songs of victory to prepare for the lesson. The first lesson will be from Joshua 6:1-20. For this lesson, we will need the wall builders from Jericho. We will need walkers, horn blowers and those who will carry the Ark of the covenant. God's people to shout. "God is mighty the victory is won!" If there is time left after the walls of Jericho are breached there will be a craft.
I am looking for assistants to bring down the walls of Jericho.

rd at 9:15 come to the church basement for VBS on Sunday. The time will start with singing. The lesson will be read from 2 Kings 22:1-23:30. Josiah, will be anointed King at the ripe old age of eight. He will look for guidance as he begins his reign. After careful study, he decides to clean up the church. As he cleans the church he finds the book. He learns God's laws from the book. The prophetess, Huldah, tells Josiah that God will give peace during his reign over the house of Israel. "God's Word is true and powerful. The victory is won!"

th at 9:15 come to the church basement for VBS on Sunday. The time will start with singing. The lesson will be read from Luke 23:1-24:12. Jesus followers watch as he dies on the cross. They see his body lying in a tomb. Jesus rises from death. He is our Savior King. The victory is won!
This is for all ages. The lessons will be acted out.
I am looking for actors and story tellers. Please consider helping and contact me if you are interested. We have crafts left over from VBS. The lessons are fun and informative. Come and see what God has done. We are victorious in Christ.
Confirmation:
Seventh and eighth graders if you want to get a jump on confirmation this fall, read your catechism. You should know the Ten Commandments and their meanings. The Lord's Prayer also has an explanation. The Creed is a very concise and powerful statement of what we believe. Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confession and Absolution are things you should be studying.
Reformation Celebration:
We are still looking for ideas for a Reformation Celebration. I have had some interest. Someone asked me if we could have a beer garden. That would be fine. I thought about selling indulgences but they are not worth anything. There is a Luther the Rock Opera. The confirmands like the Luther Rap. This is the Five Hundredth anniversary of Luther's Reformation.
We should do something.
Worship is still every Sunday. Many scholars have sounded the death Knell for the organized church. In the last two decades, the church tried to conform to the World. This failed miserably. The value of the church is that we are set apart from the World. God's Word brings us hope and peace. Do not forsake meeting together as some are in the habit of doing. Hebrews 11 says we encourage another when we meet. We can stand and rail against the darkness in our world or we can be conduit for the light of God.
