Ghosting God
Ghosting, according to the Urban Dictionary, is: "When a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they're dating, with zero warning or notice beforehand. You'll mostly see them avoiding friend's phone calls, social media, and avoiding them in public."
The nation of Israel is the Lord's beloved. God makes a covenant with Abraham and his descendants. God establishes a relationship with his people. He provides for the nation Israel. He provides for the nation Israel when they face famine. He leads the nation Israel out of slavery in Egypt. He confirms his covenant with the nation Israel with the commandments. The people pledge fidelity. They promise to worship God and follow his commandments. God leads the Israelites into the land he promised. He makes the nation a great nation.
The nation Israel ghosts God. They cut-off communication with God. They go so far as to worship other gods. They discard the laws of God. They ignore God's messengers, the prophets. They fail to worship God. They fail to acknowledge his presence and his power. The nation avoids God and then seeks to destroy the messengers of God.
To be fair, in the nation Israel, there remained a faithful remnant. There was a group of people who remained faithful to God. They clung to their relationship with God. They worshipped God and listened to his word. Still, God is angry that the nation Israel has spurned his love for them.
God demonstrates his anger by his judgments against the nation Israel. He couches his judgements in the fact that he desires to turn the nation from its wickedness. God recognizes that the infidelity of the Israelites will lead them to eternal despair. God is unwilling to forsake the Israelites even though they have been unfaithful. God refuses to be ghosted.
God loves his people so much that he sends his Son to die for the nation. The nation rejects the Son. Still there are some who believe. Again, there is the faithful remnant. God is faithful. His love for his people is constant. His grace is enough. The Son of God suffers and dies to reconcile his people. The sins of all are forgiven. The nation is redeemed. God demonstrates his love.
It would be sheer folly to spurn such a gracious loving God. It would be foolish to twist the love of God into an encumbrance. How foolish would it be to ghost God?
The nation of Israel ghosted God. They ignored him and spurned his truth. They neglected to gather together in worship. They failed to bring him their first fruits. They lived lives contrary to the teachings of his Word. Still, God loves his children. Still, God sends messengers to proclaim his truth. Finally, God sent his Son.
It would be foolishness to ghost God. Still as a people and as a nation we turn away from God. We do not heed his Word. We fail to worship Christ as Lord. We disappear from worship. We fail to respond to calls from fellow believers. While we ghost God, he still loves and provides for us. He celebrates when we repent and come to worship Him. Stop ghosting God. Come and worship the Lord in his church.

Join us for a Miraculous Mission!
With summer fast approaching, we wanted to remind everyone of our Vacation Bible School plans. VBS will be June 10-13th beginning at 6:00 p.m. As in the previous years, we will begin the evening with a dinner. We are looking for volunteers to provide our meals for Tuesday-Thursday nights. (Monday night is already being provided). Looking for hotdogs, mac and cheese, or sandwiches, chips, fruit, and desserts whatever you would like to provide. If you are musically inclined, we would love your help as a music leader. Contact Carrie Gregar at 913-837-2791 if you would be willing to help with a meal or music.
There will be a table in the entry of the church where you can take a registration form that needs to be filled out for every child planning to attend.
Let's make this year a great week of learning and celebrating our Savior!

Easter Celebration
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make our Easter celebration a huge success this year! Thank you to everyone who helped with the Easter breakfast - set up, clean up, providing all of the food, etc. Thank you to everyone who helped with the Children's activities. They had an amazing time celebrating the resurrection of our Savior! Thank you to everyone who purchased Easter Lilies. The front of the church looked beautiful! We are truly blessed!

THANK YOU to all the Helping Hands on our Servant Event!
We had a great turnout helping clean up the yard of a fellow church member, Nadine Wells, needing our help. We would like to say thank you to: Paul & Linda Richards, The Varns Family, The Smith Family, The Bell Family, The Weber family, The Eickhoff family, Glenn Pooler and Lois Rausch. We were working so hard we didn't even stop to take any pictures. We had a great fellowship time together and with Nadine while we raked the leaves, pulled weeds, and picked up fallen tree limbs. At the end of our event, Paul, Linda and Nadine surprised the youth group with a very generous donation to help us reach our goal of attending the NYG in Minneapolis this summer. We were very surprised and touched! Thank you so very much Nadine!

National Honor Society Volunteers
On Saturday, March 23rd and 30th, three Louisburg High School National Honor Society juniors volunteered their time to clean-up the grounds at Christ Our Savior. Calvin Dillon, Garrett Harding and Garrett Rolofson raked up an enormous amount of leaves, hauled all of the debris away and spread mulch around the COS Community Center and Sanctuary. Everything was completed in time for our Easter Sunrise service. We truly appreciate all of their efforts. We would also like to thank Richard Fauss for all of his work to make this such a success. Thank you as well to Pastor Andy for the Thrivent card which allowed for the purchase of mulch, landscaping tarp, edging, new drain tubes, etc.
In the fall, we would like to add new things around the two buildings. If you would like to help by purchasing plants,
would like to help plant items purchased or donated, or would like to make a donation to the cause, please contact Richard Fauss.

Christ Our Savior helps our local Meals on Wheels program by sponsoring the annual Pie Auction. The auction is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 13th at the American Legion Hall.
We want our members and friends to know that they can make contributions at any time to help with this worthy project. Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals for senior citizens who need a little extra help. If you would like to make a contribution to assist with the expenses of the annual Pie Auction, you may mail it in to the church or provide it in a separate envelope with your offering. Checks should be made out to Christ Our Savior with a note that it is for Meals on Wheels and we will hold the funds for the Pie Auction committee.
If you would like to assist in another way, please contact Beth Ramsey at 316-727-1249. Thank you!

Due to the busyness of May, we will not be holding any activities this month. We will be discussing dates/times in June/July for rescheduling our "Fishing/Kayaking with Jesus, Kickball /softball-youth against adult tournament, going swimming at Lake Miola & a picnic at a park with Frisbee golf during our Sunday School time. This summer will be a time to get acquainted with each other and build some friendship ties! We will also plan our flamingo flocking fundraiser. We hope that you will join us and be a part of a fun exciting group that just likes to hang out together and have fun!
We would like to wish a "Happy Graduation" to all of our Senior youth moving on in their next big step - whatever that is and don't forget that God is there with you wherever you go! It has been a pleasure getting to know you!
