Direct Service Providers (DSPs) working in the overdose crisis experience trauma as well as individual and collective grief due to the loss of clients, coworkers, friends and community. SADOD (Support After Death by Overdose) DSP program was created out of a need to offer grief support to the workforce impacted by substance use loss/suicide. SADOD’s DSP programming serves the community of providers such as recovery coaches, harm reduction staff, nurses, residential, MOUD program staff and more, by way of providing free monthly peer grief support groups and workshops via zoom. SADOD’s DSP workshops are developed and facilitated by DSP peers, covering topics related to grief /loss & resiliency while providing peers an opportunity to discuss these topics in community.

MNN Federal Impacts Survey is back

Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, in partnership with The Boston Foundation and The MassINC Polling Group, is surveying Massachusetts nonprofits about how the ongoing challenges driven by federal policies and the recent shutdown (among other events) may be impacting your organizations and the people you serve. The survey aims to help the field, state budget decision-makers, and other allies understand the evolving impacts and needs more clearly, while also elevating the ways in which MA nonprofits are pivoting and adapting in this new landscape.

Three County CoC PIT Count begins Jan 26th

The Three County CoC will conduct its annual Point in Time (PIT) Count later this month. This flyer is for service providers and volunteers in Berkshire, Franklin, and Hampshire Counties. If you have not been involved in the PIT Count before, please consider reaching out and getting involved with this important work! This is a critical source of data on the number and characteristics of people experiencing homelessness.

Faces of Grief Exhibition

Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice and The Garden: A Center for Grieving Children and Teens, in partnership with Springfield Technical Community College, collaborated in a photography exhibit titled Faces of Grief. This exhibition, at the Carberry Fine Arts Gallery from January 20 to February 6, with a public reception on January 31, promises to be a transformative experience, inviting attendees to explore the themes of loss and remembrance. As Shelly Lenn, Bereavement Coordinator at Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice, stated, "Grief is often a silent experience." This exhibit not only honors those we have lost but also opens the door to conversations that remind us we are never truly alone in our journeys of grief.
