COSEBOC's Year End Reflections
COSEBOC Has Much to Be Grateful For!
By Ron Walker
During the holiday season, the spirit of gratitude and generosity rings loudest. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you all and to share the growth and progress that COSEBOC is making due to the support of members, partners, donors, and funders.
Recent Covid pandemic restrictions have caused COSEBOC, like so many organizations in a similar space, to make pivots essential to the sustainability of our work. Over the past three years we have successfully made the changes that have enriched our mission: the affirmative social, emotional, cultural, and academic development of boys and young men of color.
An Uplifting Fall Season!
We had an inspiring, thought-provoking, and richly informative fall season of Conversations With Thought Leaders! Thank you to all who joined us, and especially to our guest speakers: Dr. Pedro Noguera in October, Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings in November, and Shane Safir and Dr. Jamila Dugan in December. We are preparing a new winter/spring season of conversations beginning in February, 2023. Be on the lookout!
Apple of a Different Color Award
In November, COSEBOC Executive Director, Ron Walker, received the Apple of a Different Color Award from the Massachusetts based Worcester Education Collaborative (WEC). This award is presented periodically by WEC to visionary leaders in K–12 education. Past recipients include John Bassette, former president of Clark University, and John B. King, Jr., Secretary of Education under President Obama.

We are honored to be recognized. Thank you, WEC!
End-of-Year Giving
COSEBOC has much to be thankful for as we move from pandemic to progress and from hustle to flow. We remain strong in our commitment to continuing and expanding upon our efforts in 2023. You can support this work by donating to our 2022 Year-End Giving Campaign today. If you have already given to this campaign, we thank you. With your support, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of thousands of boys and young men of color.
