HELLO EVERYONE

Well its been variable weather here.....what's it been like with you? I am hoping for some better weather at the end of the week for the last of a bout of courses. This one will be with David Tress and although he does tell folk to bring their wellies in case of rain, one can but hope!!!!

Meanwhile I have had two courses in the past week, one with the lovely Jean Littlejohn and another with Maggie Pearson. I hope you enjoy these images.

JEAN LITTLEJOHN

Students had another very successful course with Jean Littlejohn and produced some fabulous pieces of work with plenty of ideas for future development.

Jean began by getting the class to sample 4 different techniques, using mixed media approaches and these samples were to form the basis for their main piece of work.

Here are some more sampling and some of the more major pieces of work that the students carried out.

Thanks for a wonderful 2 days Jean.....we look forward to next year.
MAGGIE PEARSON

Well that was an exciting day. My only regret is that I didn't take part. You will see why when you look at these wonderful results below. Maggie managed to fit in three activities into the day workshop. The first was using wool or silk with vinegar water, the second working with papers soaked in alum overnight and simmered in iron water and finally working with cotton soaked in iron solution (ferrous sulphate): all used with plant material.

These first few samples are onto cloth.

These following images are works onto paper.

Such a rich array of beautiful natural colour all from the garden. I didn't know I had so many wonderful plants.

So now just one more day with my on-going art group to fit in and one more 3 day course with DAVID TRESS before going off to Germany and Austria. You may have to wait until my return to have a glimpse at those wonderful images.
