At the time of this release, the House of Commons is
SUSPENDED
on debating the $82B relief package. The Liberal government inserted a provision in the bill asking for extraordinary powers that would extend over the next two years.
The Conservatives and NDP are opposed and say they were prepared to support the relief package but will not support these extraordinary powers.
The opposition parties are prepared to return to Parliament to address further measures should the government need to increase the relief package in the future.
