CAWG is aware that law enforcement, in some areas of the state, have stopped farmworkers who are commuting to work and questioned them on why they are not sheltered at home. This is especially of concern on the Central Coast where San Luis Obispo County has created a
hotline for the public to report violations
of the stay at home order.
CAWG has developed templates for two tools that may help those workers feel safer when traveling to and from work:
- A bumper sticker for the vehicle that identifies the worker as ‘essential’ under the stay at home order.
* Standard bumper sticker size 3'' x 11.5''
- Language that can be placed on a card identifying your employee as an essential worker. This card can also list your company name and a contact for employment verification needs.
Please feel free to utilize these templates to share with your workforce.
CAWG will continue working to develop tools to help growers and our workers get through this crisis. Please view CAWG as a resource and let us know how we can help.
Take care & stay healthy,
Your CAWG Team
