MadREP Report | April 8, 2020
Once again MadREP’s special relationship with the Urban League of Greater Madison has yielded dividends as the two organizations have partnered with Amazon and the owners of the Milwaukee Street property on which an $8 million distribution center and separate housing project will be developed. On MadREP’s invitation, the Urban League became a critical advocate for the effort which narrowly passed the City Council on Tuesday.

The workforce housing that is being proposed is a critical element of this endeavor and both the Urban League and MadREP will continue to press for performance, while the 170 new jobs in the distribution center will become welcome opportunities for the League’s well-trained clientele.
