COVID-19: Serving the Community in New Ways
UWCK Announces KeysHelp.org
Providing a platform for COVID-19 financial assistance and
connecting residents to resources
UWCK is excited to announce KeysHelp.org, an innovative way to assist neighbors in need. Through this website, UWCK has developed a platform to safely connect individuals and families financially impacted by COVID-19 with case managers who can help provide assistance. It also includes the most comprehensive listing of health and human services resources for Keys residents.

Feel free to share the flyer at the left as widely as possible, to connect residents with resources.

Jessica, who received assistance through
KeysHelp.org, shares how this helped her during a difficult time...

"I want to thank you so very much for the assistance with my [utility] and phone bill. I was diagnosed with COVID three days ago and will be off work for the next week and possibly longer.  Thankfully, after four days of fever and body aches I am feeling quite better and hopefully have been blessed with a mild case without complications. I just moved into an apartment Oct 1 and exhausted my meager savings securing a roof over my head."

"I honestly never expected such a quick response and felt like I was probably applying for something that would fall into the internet void. Thank you so, so very much. I have been here for a year and a half and am continually blown away by this amazing community. Thank you so very much for the assistance. It came at a time when I was honestly evaluating whether I could afford this amazing tiny island life I have created for myself. Thank you so, so very much. "
Please consider making a donation so that we can help
more Keys residents like Jessica.
Students and Teachers Celebrate a Successful Stuff the Bus and Tools for Back to School
With the community's support, UWCK’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaign raised $14,775, and an additional $8,460 was raised through the Publix 'Tools for Back to School' initiative in their checkout lines in Monroe County...that means $23,235 was raised to help students succeed! On October 12 and 13, we had the opportunity to visit all the schools and distribute the funds raised.

Introducing Dr. Carter Weber
We would like to welcome Dr. Carter Weber to our Keys Local Advisory Board (LAB).

He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his doctorate at the University of Florida. When Dr. Weber is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. He also enjoys paddle boarding, boating and fishing.
Share the Joy of Reading with a Child You Know
We are currently enrolling Keys children in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! Any child up to age
4 1/2 is eligible to enroll. Local parents are grateful for this program:

“Imagination Library is a big help my 6 year old daughter read very good she is now in 1 grade and I’m so happy and she is to that we have the opportunity to read a new book every month she loves books and we read every night 2 books, she is so happy!! Even my 3 year old is now into books when she see me and her sister reading. Is really important to create this moments with our children for their future…in every book is a big and beautiful moment for our kids (sic).”
