COVID-19: WCAB Issues En Banc Order Rescinding Suspension of WCAB Rules, Effective September 1
The WCAB issued an en banc order July 16 rescinding a previous emergency order that had provided workers' compensation judges and arbitrators with an unlimited extension of time to issue reports in response to petitions for reconsideration, removal or disqualification.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Appeals Board temporarily suspended specific WCAB Rules of Practice and Procedure in its emergency en banc decision issued on March 18, including WCAB Rules 10961(a), 10962(c), 10990(f)(3)(E), and 10995(c)(3).

"The Appeals Board hereby rescinds its suspension of WCAB Rules 10961(a), 10962(c), 10990(f)(3)(E), and 10995(c)(3) as of September 1, 2020," the order reads in part.

"These Rules will become effective again with respect to petitions filed on or after September 1, 2020."
