COVID-19: Getting Health Coverage and Health Care
We are releasing our second fact sheet, COVID-19: Getting Health Coverage and Health Care (see below). It provides information about getting health insurance coverage, where to go for care if coverage is not available and new protections for consumers in response to the COVID-19 emergency. These include:

  • Renewals, income eligibility reviews and most terminations for Medicaid recipients are postponed
  • Commercial insurance plans are required to cover COVID-19 testing/screening without prior authorization and without cost-sharing
  • Access to telemedicine is expanded
  • Early refills of prescriptions may be available.

For information about the COVID-19 virus in RI, visit the Department of Health’s excellent website: https://health.ri.gov/diseases/ncov2019/
