Dear Clients and Families,

We know that these are trying times that add much stress and uncertainly to our lives. Things are changing very quickly as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the province and it is difficult to keep up with the changes that this brings.

As parents or family members of children, youth, and adults living with mental health needs and/or autism, we know you are trying to cope with the many challenges with which you are faced. Schools and recreational facilities are closed. Social interaction and gatherings are discouraged. As we all try to navigate this complex and ever-changing landscape, please know that Woodview is committed to ensuring that services and supports are available for clients and families. They may be delivered differently, but we are here for the children, youth, adults, and families that we serve.

We want you to know that as of March 17 th Woodview staff are available and working from home providing counselling and coaching support with clients by phone. Please contact your worker directly; if you do not know who your worker is please reach out to your Program Manager.  All general office voicemails are being checked regularly and responded to within 24 hours.

We also have some video capacity and are working to increase it; we will let you know as soon as this platform is available.

If a client is urgently in need of an in-person meeting with their worker, staff will discuss this with their manager and director and arrange to see the client at one of the open office locations as long as all parties are following screening guidelines.

Residential services continue to operate at The Manor and Supported Independent Living program. We are committed to the safety of our clients and staff and have taken strict precautionary measures such as enhanced client screening, sanitizing the physical space on a regular basis, and limiting face to face and group interactions to what is necessary to support our clients.

We have added a resource list on our website compiled by the Centre of Excellence to support parents and caregivers in discussing COVID-19 with children and youth.

This is an unprecedented time and the situation is fluid. We will continue to provide updates as changes arise. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe.

Sincerely,

Cindy I’Anson
