We are turning to you for your help to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
Our responsibility as NANASP is to advocate as strongly as we can for our programs. Working with Meals on Wheels America, we are communicating with Congress on additional funding needs for senior nutrition programs and the Administration on issues such as providing specific information for aging services programs.
But, to be more effective in our advocacy, we need to hear from you about what is going on in your program.
We would appreciate brief answers to any of these questions:
Is your congregate program planning to remain open? Who makes this decision?
Are you noticing a drop-off of attendance at your congregate program over the past week to 10 days?
If your program were to close temporarily, what percentage of your current congregate participants would transfer to home-delivered meals? Do you have the capacity (staff, volunteers, transportation) for this?
Have you had to order more shelf-stable meals for your congregate or home-delivered meals programs?
Are you planning to continue to deliver meals?
Are you planning to modify your procedures around delivering meals (delivering shelf-stable meals weekly, leaving meals on doorsteps, etc.)?
Have you received information/guidelines/direction from the Administration for Community Living?
