SUPPORTING
YOUR BUSINESS
DURING COVID-19
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 08, 2020
We have received more clarity within the last week on tools and programs available to businesses, families and individuals. There are still details to come from several federal agencies on how these programs will be delivered and what to expect. You can hear the highlights outlined in the recording of this week's Chamber CEO Conference Call.
What we do know, is we can expect the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation benefits – the additional $600 available through the CARES Act – to be dispersed to unemployed Missourians displaced due to COVID-19, sometime during the week of April 12. And the IRS reported we should expect to receive economic impact payments within the next two to three weeks.
As you apply for these CARES Act programs, we encourage you to be patient while remaining vigilant and persistent. One recommendation would be to avoid peak times in your efforts. These programs are designed to provide relief for you and fuel for the economy, so don’t get discouraged - keep trying, you will get through.
During these unprecedented times, it's important to keep in touch with your employees to retain your workforce and build morale, communicate with your customers, and maintain regular contact with your bankers, accountants and trusted advisors.
We are here to support you and your business. If you have any immediate questions, please call the Chamber’s direct line at (417) 334-4084 and visit the COVID-19 Business Resources Page to help guide you to available programs.
