Small Business Support Grants Available
Applications are now open for the Ontario Small Business Support Grant, which provides $10,000 to $20,000 to eligible businesses to help cover lost revenue from the current provincewide COVID-19 shutdown.

Small businesses required to close or significantly restrict services will be able to apply for this one-time grant and use the funding in whatever way makes the most sense for them, from covering employees wages to paying rent.

Eligible small businesses include those that:
  • Were required to close or significantly restrict services due to the provincewide shutdown effective Dec. 26, 2020.
  • Have fewer than 100 employees.
  • Have experienced a minimum of 20 per cent revenue decline in April 2020 compared to April 2019. New businesses established after April 2019 will also be eligible if they meet the other criteria.

Additional business supports are also available from the province, including rebates to offset fixed costs such as property tax and energy bills. As well, there is funding to cover the cost of personal protective equipment.

More information about all support grants for businesses struggling during the current lockdown is available at Ontario.ca/COVIDsupport.
