COVID-19 Update
March 23, 2020
Dear Community Members,
As a friendly reminder, our park playgrounds are closed until further notice . Following guidance from local health officials, sanitization practices cannot be fulfilled quickly enough to ensure the health and safety of our community. For this reason, we have restricted access to playgrounds and park restrooms, but parks will remain open for non-group activities.  Pick-up games, group picnics and other large gatherings are not be permitted. W e encourage households to enjoy time outdoors, so long as you or a loved one has not exhibited COVID-19 symptoms and social distancing requirements are met.

  • Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to heading to parks and trails — wash hands, carry hand sanitizer, do not visit public spaces if you have symptoms, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, etc.
  • Observe at all times CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of six feet from other people. Practice it and know what it looks like. Keep it as you walk, bike or hike.
  • Bring a suitable trash bag. Leave no trash, take everything out to protect park workers.
To help us all navigate what social distancing means, we have created a flyer about social distancing for you to post within the home or share with family and friends. If you have further questions, please email
We appreciate your patience and encourage you to stay up-to-date with all health officials' recommendations, including the CDC's . The District will update its website as new information becomes available.

Be well!
