COVID-19 Coronavirus Update
To ECG Members,

In the midst of the COVID-19 health guidelines changing constantly, ECG is continuing to support our members. We will do so in a manner to keep everyone safe. The health of all ECG employees, ECG Members and everyone’s family are our top priority. To help minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, ECG is implementing the following company-wide employee precautionary measures, effective immediately.
  • The following activities are suspended for all ECG employees, without exception, until further notice:
  • All business-related out-of-state travel
  • All business-related domestic travel via air, train, or bus
  • Participation in other organizations business-related events of 50 or more individuals (conferences, meetings, trade shows, festivals, etc.).

  • Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies. Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.
  • ECG is currently working with the hotel and organizers on reviewing the status of the upcoming ED Summit in April at Jekyll Island.
  • For the next 2 weeks, all ECG employees are requested to telecommute as possible.
  • In lieu of the travel restrictions in place due to the COVID-19, it is still important for us to navigate through the disruptions and remain close to our members.
  •  We have added GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar as an alternative way to communicate
  • In-state travel via car can continue but employees are highly encouraged to conduct meetings remotely whenever possible
  • Limit high exposure activities (i.e. overnight hotel stays, public establishments, restaurants, public restrooms, etc.) whenever possible.
  • The ECG/MEAG Offices are now “visitor free” locations. Please conduct remote meetings with vendors, consultants or other visitors.
  • Take time to assess your business continuity plans and back-up procedures so you are prepared in the event of a long-term staff outage or office closure.
  • For any personal travel plans, please exercise increased caution, take the appropriate preventative measures to care for your health and safety, and stay current with the CDC’s guidance.
Precautions & Safety Measures
We cannot stress enough the importance of the following personal hygiene measures:
  • Wash your hands often and thoroughly for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Disinfect your work space daily including your phone, headset, and computer accessories.
  • Disinfect common area surfaces and shared resources (pool car steering wheels, shared tools, door knobs, light switches). Don’t assume someone else has already done it!
  • Try to limit physical contact (i.e. handshaking) and exercise “social distancing” (i.e. maintaining 3-6’ of separation) when possible.
  • Take care of yourself by eating well, staying hydrated and resting.

If you feel ill or begin to develop symptoms, which may include fever, cough and/or shortness of breath (Note: symptoms taken from the CDC site):
  • Contact your medical provider and your supervisor to make necessary arrangements.
  • If you or someone in your household is diagnosed or in close proximity with COVID-19, please contact Human Resources as soon as possible.
  • Remain home until your symptoms subside and adhere to your medical provider’s instructions when making decisions regarding your ability to report to work.
  • Individuals who are exhibiting symptoms upon or after reporting to work may be asked to go home until symptoms subside.
  • Keep your management team apprised of your status.
We will continue to monitor developments pertaining to COVID-19 and follow recommendations of local, state and federal authorities. If appropriate, we will amend or implement additional measures to aid in the protection of our employees and Member communities.
