Now more than ever you need a partner that you can count on. We want to share with you how we are supporting you and your members through this COVID-19 healthcare crisis. We are taking the following steps:
- We are tracking all members’ claims for COVID-19 diagnoses and testing so we are able to engage members early and provide you with timely reporting on what is happening with your health plan.
- We are screening all inpatient admissions for COVID-19 diagnoses. When a COVID-19 diagnosed member does require inpatient treatment, we will automatically refer them to our Case Management Program. One of our Case Management nurses will reach out via both phone and letter to answer any questions members or their families may have about their coverage or treatment and help them find the right care. Our Case Managers will follow members’ hospital stay clinical notes during their treatment and work with the hospital or inpatient facility to help members with discharge, home health, or skilled nursing coordination and authorization, if needed.
- As members face more complex treatment, we understand that you will want to have some sense of the costs your plan may incur. We will share our early indicators on COVID-19 related testing and treatment costs as we receive more COVID-19 related claims. We are also updating our analytic platform with new data filters to identify COVID-19, Flu and Pneumonia claims and utilization. Additional tools, measures and information will be provided in the coming days and weeks to help get ahead and stay ahead of this challenge facing us all.
