Insurance Bureau of Canada: Insurance in the Hospitality Sector
On Monday, IBC hosted a roundtable on insurance challenges in the hospitality sector. The presentation and succeeding questions were helpful in shaping IBC’s continued response to the hardening commercial market.

IBC acknowledges the frustration of business owners, particularly those in the hospitality sector. Both Deloitte and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses presented at the roundtable. View the presentations below.
Fast Track Your Future: Financial Series
We are thrilled to announce a new series designed to drive financial recovery and resiliency. Resources are tight and teams around the province are undergoing change or are depleted due to business levels. As a result, expectations from hotel ownership groups and asset managers will demand more, expecting their leaders to be accountable, flexible, and creative. The BCHA is proud to launch the Fast Track Your Future series to offer a path to success:
 
ABOUT THE SERIES:
·Fast Track Your Future is a nine-session series starting December 1. The program is comprised of two tracks focussing on financial leadership and revenue management. The series is designed to light the fire in your leaders while still being manageable in today’s challenging environment.

PRICING:
The program will qualify for the Work BC Employer Training Grant, which may cover up to 60% of the training expense.

TOTA's Virtual AGM & Summit
Registration is now open for the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) & Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association (CCCTA) virtual AGMs & joint virtual Summit. 
This year, the Summit is free to attend with advance registration required. We welcome donations to support the TOTA Tourism Excellence Scholarship Program, an annual award given to exemplary students most connected to current issues in the tourism industry. 

In addition, BCHA President & CEO, Ingrid Jarrett, will be presenting at this years event on stories of resiliency in the industry. Be sure to register today!
TOTA will be hosting a virtual silent auction at this years summit. Proceeds from the auction will be used for the TOTA Tourism Excellence Scholarship Program.

Benefits for businesses that donate to the auction will be:
  • Your company logo will appear on the Summit Landing Page as a Silent Auction Sponsor
  • There will be mention of your business in the closing keynote

We will require the following information no later than November 20, 2020:
  • We are requesting items as a Photo and/or Video to be displayed on the virtual summit platform through a "Silent Auction Virtual Booth" 
  • Your company logo(s) in either PNG or JPG format
  • We will need the dollar value of the item donated
  • We will also need a description of the item and any blackout dates if applicable

Attendees can place bids through the chat feature in the dedicated Virtual Booth, which will be monitored by one of us. All items for the auction will go live on Day 1 (Nov 25) for attendees to begin placing bids. Winners will be announced at the end of day 2 by closing keynote.
