RECENT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ACTIONS
  • Economic Relief and Assistance : The funding for the Payment Protection Program ($350 billion small business relief program created by Congress as part of the CARES Act ) has been exhausted as of April 16, 2020. Congress is expected to continue working on providing additional funding for small businesses, as well as begin working on another legislative stimulus package when they return from their April recess. Please see our previous update for more details on the CARES Act.

RECENT STATE OF FLORIDA GOVERNMENT ACTIONS

  • Extension of Vacation Rental Closures: Vacation rental suspension extend until April 30. No reservations or check-ins allowed for Airbnb and VRBO-type rentals until the order expires. The order excludes hotels, inns, resorts, time-shares, and long-term rentals. Click for more.
  • Unemployment Reporting Requirements Suspended: The requirement for unemployment claimants to report that they are "seeking work" is suspended during the COVID-19 state of emergency. Click for more.
  • Essential Service List Additions: The "essential services" list of E0 20-91 is expanded to include urgent counseling services, theme park and zoo maintenance, and professional sports media production. Click for more.
