FROM THE CITY OF MONTEREY
COVID-19 Local Update - in Brief
May 7, 2020
Spring flowers are in full bloom around town, including the historic gardens of Monterey. Besides being beautiful, they can remind us that we are making our way through the pandemic - March and April are past, and now May is here! We've already made it a long way, so don't look back. Let's just keep moving forward and get through this together.

Transportation Adaptation Plan Community Workshop next Wednesday
While global warming and sea level rise may not be the current hot topic, it is still an important local concern for the City of Monterey. Months ago, the City of Monterey secured a transportation adaptation plan grant that will help the community plan how to adapt the transportation infrastructure for predicted sea level rise over the next few decades. While the COVID-19 pandemic has overshadowed this important topic, we will move forward with the grant-required timeline and in the interest of providing public outreach. The feedback the City gets from the workshop will help determine the best approach to deal with these changes, and will allow the community to provide input and be informed.

Register to participate at the link provided at monterey.org/planning . This workshop will also be streamed live on the Monterey Channel, cable channel 25, and we will provide a link to watch anytime. Thank you to Access Media Productions for providing this service.
