World Whale and Dolphin Day - Photo credit: @douglascroftimages
We are jumping for joy because today is #WorldWhaleandDolhpinDay! This purpose of this day is to promote protection of marine mammals. At one time, Monterey was a major and busy whaling center. Bleached bones of whales dotted our beaches. Today, whales are protected in our national marine sanctuary. Many species of whales visit here, including “superpods” of dolphins in the hundreds. You never know what you’ll see on a whale watching trip from Old Fisherman’s Wharf.

Monterey Bay Community Power Covid-19 Financial Relief Update
Monterey Bay Community Power's (MBCP’s) COVID-19 Response and the California Climate Credit are currently providing a second month of significant cost reduction for MBCP customers. These financial relief initiatives are reflected in your May and June statements, typically received the following month. MBCP’s COVID-19 Response provides a 50% cost deferment on all customers’ May and June bills, while the California Climate Credit is providing a savings of $17.87 also for May and June.

During and after these challenging times, MBCP will remain committed to providing cost savings. Customers will not experience higher-than-normal bills after the deferment period and in fact, customers will save even more than they would have in 2020 with MBCP’s activated COVID-19 response.
