Dear Business Community,
Thank you to every individual who participated in the City of Reno business conference call on March 17 and/or has contacted us with business questions regarding Governor Sisolak's
Emergency Directive 003 that ordered the closure of nonessential businesses to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
In an effort to help summarize the business requirements for both essential and nonessential businesses, we've developed this
updated regional guide to help answer many of your questions. The document includes guidance from the
Nevada Health Response as well as clarifying information on topics/questions not specifically addressed in the state’s guide. Since COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation, we will be updating the guide regularly and posting any additional guidance or new directives from the Governor's office at
Reno.Gov/COVID19.
In addition, in an effort to provide relief for businesses affected by the Governor's emergency directive, the City of Reno is extending the time for businesses to pay their license fees. The deadline for any business fees due between March 27, 2020 and April 30, 2020 may be extended 30 days. Any other business that has been unable to pay fees due to the COVID-19 emergency may request an extension on a case-by-case basis.
We hope the guide helps answer many of your questions. Please contact us via email at
[email protected] or by phone at 775-334-2090 if you have additional questions. We are working hard to respond to each individual. Due to high call volume, please leave a voicemail and a staff member will call you back as soon as possible.
We know this public health emergency and the business requirements are having an impact on you and our entire community. We will continue to do our best to share updated information with our business community.
Thank you!
