COVID-19 New/Updated Resources-4/8/2020

Our intent is to provide you with real time resources, tools, information and materials. All content in these newsletters will address COVID-19 needs and interests. We are also responding to requests for information and providing it to everyone. If you have a question or need, please let us know. The information we provide is intended to be helpful across states, however, with our working relationship with New York (through recent grant funding from the NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council), we will have specific items just for New York.

How are you using your Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)? Attached are some tips on how to utilize your CERT during the pandemic.

Law Enforcement specific COVID-19 Portal has been set up by the American Society of Evidence Based Policing (ASEBP). The American Society of Evidence-Based Policing has created a law enforcement only communication portal for agencies to share policies and practices surrounding COVID19. You do not need to be a member of ASEBP to participate in the portal. You will need a valid law enforcement email in order to create a login and password. We only ask that while you collect information from the portal that you also contribute. If all of law enforcement will share, the site could become a powerful tool for communication to develop practices to fight against the spread of COVID19, so please share your policies and practices so that others may be safe. This portal is open to international law enforcement agencies, not just U.S. law enforcement.

Disability Rights New York (DRNY ) has podcasts that can assist you during the crisis. This includes disability rights during the pandemic. Their website is also being updated constantly with valuable information specific to COVID-19. These will be on-going.

There are two webinars on Thursday, April 9 that will address ADA Coordinator's role in response to accessibility as it pertains to the ADA and 9-1-1 Dispatch and reducing contact.

-ADA Coordinators; Research on ADA Coordinators involvement in Accessible Emergency Management
-9-1-1 During COVID-19: Reducing First Responder Face to Face Contact
