A Message from the Mayor
"It goes without saying that we are all living in a time of daily uncertainty that none of us has ever experienced. The only thing certain is that our top priority has been, and will continue to be, the health, safety and welfare of all those in our community.

My heart felt personal thanks go out to all the residents, local organizations and businesses that have rallied together in the best interests of our community. It is truly remarkable to see the level to which local creativity and resourcefulness has gone. We have citizens finding ways to support our local restaurants, feed our maxed-out first responders and health care professionals, collect and produce critical medical supplies, and many other spontaneously organized missions. This continues to grow every day as I, the Aldermen, and the staff all receive suggestions and offers of assistance.

Lake Forest is truly a special place, full of caring, intelligent people who are willing to give their all. As has been said, but I reiterate, we shall get through this crisis together.

I encourage you to stay updated on the ever-changing news pertaining to the pandemic by visiting us online, signing up for E-news or following us on the City’s social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

Please be assured that we remain in constant communication with our federal, state, and county health officials to stay abreast of the latest information, health guidance, and recommendations. Stay healthy and please don’t hesitate to reach out to the City if you have any questions by emailing us at cityhall@cityoflakeforest.com or calling 847.234.2600.

Thank you.”

From Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital
"On behalf of Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many members of our community who have so generously stepped forward to provide donations to support our hospital staff during this crisis. We are uplifted and heartened by your kind actions.

First, in keeping with the current “shelter in place” order, we would welcome those in the community wishing to support our caregivers to consider making a donation to our COVID-19 Relief Fund or by donating to our Employee Assistance Crisis Fund

Many individuals and organizations have offered to provide meals or non-perishable food to our staff. Since specific safety guidelines apply to these donations, we ask that you please contact Kelly Callen at Kelly.Callen@nm.org or 847.535.6851 to review the guidelines and schedule a drop-off location, date and time. Food can be accepted by scheduled drop-off only. We can generally accept restaurant-prepared, individually wrapped food and most non-perishable items.

If you have other specific items you would like to donate, please first contact Marleana Cross at mcross@nm.org or 847.535.6933 to confirm the items can be used. We will stay in communication with the City of Lake Forest and provide further information if/when we have other needs.

Thank you again for your overwhelming expressions of caring and generosity. We are so deeply grateful.

Beware of Scams!
There are phone call scams circulating in the community addressing the suspension of social security numbers as well as other solicitation scams that surface during crisis times. Please be vigilante and do not allow yourself to become a victim.
