Firefighters use a special sprayer to clean equipment with an air pack to power the sprayer.
"I wanted to take a moment to thank the many residents and friends that have been so thoughtful recently. We have had numerous people reach out to provide meals for our firefighters. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and the fact that you are also supporting local restaurants is great.
We have also received donations of various PPE supplies, that will all be put to good use. To say that I am proud of my LFFD staff is an understatement. The situation is changing daily, and to their credit, they have all adapted to new protocols, new PPE standards, and simply continue to respond whenever called upon. Lake Forest is very fortunate to have such highly skilled and dedicated team of first responders.
The uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus has changed all of our lives, and we appreciate everyone that is helping to contain the spread of this virus by complying with the necessary restrictions. I know I speak for the entire department when I say we are proud to serve the residents and visitors of Lake Forest.
I also realize that there are many less fortunate than us, and some people are having to make hard choices between feeding their families, and paying bills. With so many people out of work and just trying to get by, I am hoping the spirit of generosity will help those in need. The generosity of others has inspired me to pay it forward, and make a donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
I hope everyone stays safe and stays healthy.
