While rumors are circulating of a diagnosis of coronavirus (COVID-19) at our college, we have since determined that the cause of the rumor is related to a prank news site and that there is no substance to the rumor. Again, there is no current incident related to our college community from COVID-19. I am horrified by the perpetrator of this irresponsible rumor who then celebrates pranking us. This is dangerous behavior, not innocent fun.

The college is open and classes are ongoing. We continue to monitor all legitimate health care sites. All updated information regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) is available on the district website.

I would remind all of us to do our best to practice healthy habits so we can continue to ensure the health of the members of our college community, including the best prevention tool - washing your hands.
