During the COVID-19 crisis, the Arts Council will be compiling resources for artists and organizations who are experiencing personal or business losses due to the economic impact of the pandemic. This list will be updated weekly as news and information become available, with new resources listed towards the top.

$5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19, such as the lack or imminent endangerment of essentials such as housing, medicine, childcare, and food.

The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies.

Dodge Foundation and the Prudential Foundation. NJACRF has subsequently received generous support from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Evelyn McGee Colbert and Stephen Colbert, Tracey and Jon Stewart, the 
Stone Foundation of New Jersey, the E.J. Grassmann Trust, and a 
growing list of donors.

FCA Emergency Grants COVID-19 Fund
One-time grants of $1,500 for experimental artists who have had performances or exhibitions canceled/postponed due to COVID-19.

Performing Arts Readiness

PAR Network Grants
Ten grants of between $5,000 - $25,000 each will be awarded for projects to support both the development of new or emerging disaster preparedness networks that include performing arts and culture organizations, and the expansion of existing networks to increase participation among performing arts organizations.
Rolling deadline through April 30, 2021.

CDFI Emergency Loan Loss Reserve Fund
The CDFI Emergency Loan Loss Reserve Fund is a $10 million capital reserve fund that the NJEDA will use to take a first loss position on CDFI COVID-related loans that provide low-interest working capital to microbusinesses that have been negatively impacted by the outbreak.

Garden State Relief Fund
The Garden State Relief Fund offers loans to small businesses and nonprofits negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Division of Unemployment Insurance

Assistance is available to self-employed workers, independent contractors, gig and platform workers who are impacted by COVID-19 through Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and possibly the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, created in 1966, is a division of the NJ Department of State. The Council was established to encourage and foster public interest in the arts; enlarge public and private resources devoted to the arts; promote freedom of expression in the arts; and facilitate the inclusion of art in every public building in New Jersey. The Council receives direct appropriations from the State of New Jersey through a dedicated, renewable Hotel/Motel Occupancy fee, as well as competitive grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
