Daily Early Childhood Community Update for:
COVID-19
April 29, 2020

It is our pleasure to announce the launch of "The Basics" website
What is The Basics?

5 fun, simple and powerful ways that every family can use to help children have a great start in life.

Why is The Basics important?

We know that 80% of brain growth happens in the first 3 years. We also know that skill gaps between socio-economic, racial and ethnic groups become apparent during this time. This does not have to be! Families are children's first teachers and The Basics supports this through positive, everyday interactions.
The 5 Basics!

  • Maximize love, manage stress
  • Talk, sing and point
  • Count, group and compare
  • Explore through movement and play
  • Read and discuss stories
