To safeguard our staff and operations, we have put our branch staff on a rotating preemptive quarantine: Half of the branch staff will work one week. Half the branch the next.

If one of our employees is diagnosed with Covid-19, this will let us continue operations with unexposed staff. The only delay will be to disinfect the facilities and equipment.

During this time, you may talk with different Inside Salespeople and meet new drivers and warehouse workers. We appreciate your patience with our employees as they work to give you uninterrupted service.

We'll re-evaluate this system in a couple of weeks. Please contact your Territory Manager or local branch management team with any questions.

We wish you the best of health and business.

CertainTeed's EverNew manufacturing facility in Buffalo, NY is closed. Erie Materials will be able to fill most EverNew railing, posts and columns from our branch inventory.

Fairway Railings manufacturing facility in Mount Joy, PA is closed. Erie Materials and our partners have inventory of Fairway products. Anything not in stock will take two to three weeks and may have a freight surcharge.

There are no issues obtaining or manufacturing Trex railing.

Erie Materials continues to remain open for business. New York has designated "hardware and building material stores" as essential. In Pennsylvania, "building material and supplies dealers" are essential.

We have ample inventory of roofing, siding and decking at our locations. We've also waived delivery fees temporarily to encourage you to use the service.

Our supply chain has had just one significant disruption. Viwinco Windows in Pennsylvania was ordered to cease manufacturing but we can provide alternative vinyl window solutions from Paradigm and VWD. We don't have concerns right now about being able to obtain or receive products from other manufacturers or distributors.

We realize that this is a challenging time for our customers. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has a web page of excellent health, business and operational advice for all contractors at: https://www.nrca.net/covid-19-resources-for-roofing-contractors

If you have any questions or concerns, feel welcome to reach out to your Erie Materials branch managers who can be contacted through: www.eriematerials.com/contact

As people all over the world deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to let you know how Erie Materials is handling it.

The health and safety of our employees is our top priority. Just as we wouldn't ask an employee to take a safety risk on a delivery, we won't ask them to take risks in this situation. This means we're:

  • following CDC recommendations as much as possible;
  • using best practices for hygiene and disinfection at all facilities;
  • requiring sick employees to stay home;
  • minimizing social contact;
  • cancelling events such as our Expo; and
  • restricting meetings and travel unless absolutely critical.

In addition to our employees, these precautions help protect you, our vendors, and everyone else they come in contact with.

All of our locations remain open for business and we're ready to serve your building material needs. We have, however, needed to make some temporary modifications to how we do business.

  • We encourage you to place your request or order by calling the branch, emailing your branch contact or submitting the form at www.eriematerials.com/urgent Complete branch contact information is at www.eriematerials.com/contact Please place your orders as early as possible.
  • Whenever possible, request jobsite delivery.
  • Non-employees won't be allowed to enter our buildings. We will deliver products to the entrance of the warehouse or to your vehicle.
  • Our showrooms will not be available for product selection. We can provide samples or cut pieces for most products.
  • Our Territory Managers will not be be making face-to-face visits but will remain available by phone or email. Our restrictions may limit their options but they'll do their best to find a safe way to fulfill your requests.
  • Our service techs will be unable to visit homes.

As the situation evolves, we'll adapt our response. We will keep you informed of any changes that will affect you.

There is some general but helpful advice for construction companies at https://www.agc.org/sites/default/files/3.17%20COVID19%20Recommended%20Practices%20%282%29.pdf If we find other resources for contractors, we'll share those.

For a business with a reputation built on personal service, these changes seem drastic but are unquestionably necessary. Thank you for respecting our policies. We'll get through this together.
