Wisconsin Thank You Tour - Moving Forward Together: the Wisconsin Department of Health Service (DHS) announced the "Thank You Tour: Moving Forward Together” to thank communities for their COVID-19 response efforts. As part of the Thank You Tour, DHS officials will be traveling across Wisconsin from March through May to see and hear directly from those who have been serving on the COVID-19 frontlines. Stops include local health departments and tribal health clinics, aging and disability resource centers, COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites, health care facilities, vaccination community outreach grant awardees, schools, and health care industry events. The Thank You Tour recognizes that Wisconsin is in a better place today to respond to the virus due to the support and sacrifices of those who stepped up to protect their communities. COVID-19 Treatment - Test to Treat Initiative: The Biden-Harris Administration is launching a new nationwide Test to Treat initiative that will give individuals an important new way to rapidly access free lifesaving treatment for COVID-19. The initiative is projected to launch by the end of March, in which people would be able to receive Paxlovid, an antiviral pill made by Pfizer and authorized by the FDA, upon testing positive for COVID-19 at a pharmacy or designated location. The pills will be free and available at participating sites at Walgreens, Kroger, CVS, and community health centers. The treatment is recommended to be prescribed within five days of the onset of symptoms, and in some cases will be available at testing sites for people who test positive for the virus. Learn more about the Test to Treat Initiative.
