- Q: Do I still need to wear a mask on planes, trains, and buses?
-
A: Check with the transportation agency for their current mask policy. On April 18th, a court ruling voided the federal requirement that people wear a mask on public transportation. This has led some airlines, airports, and transportation systems to lift their requirement that passengers wear masks. The CDC continues to recommend that people wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public transportation settings, especially if they are at increased risk for severe disease. DHS and the CDC recommend knowing the COVID-19 Community Level of your travel destination to determine necessary COVID-19 prevention measures in counties across the United States.
