- Starting next week, our Situation Update will be sent earlier in the day, and the "What's New" section will be updated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The dashboard on our website will continue to be updated daily.
- On June 5 the Winnebago County Board of Health unanimously approved a proposed ordinance amendment that was then presented at the full Winnebago County Board meeting on Tuesday, June 16. Based on public comment from the meeting on Tuesday night, we are reviewing the proposed amendment and making changes to improve the clarity of the language. On Monday, June 22, the Winnebago County Legislative Committee is meeting, however the ordinance is not on the agenda and the committee is not scheduled to take up the matter. There will be a brief COVID-19 case number update at the end of the meeting. We've been fielding a lot of questions on the proposed ordinance amendment. - The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) released guidance and recommendations for member high schools, grades 6-12, to resume summertime athletics programming and other activities beginning July 1, 2020. It will be the decision of each school’s district administrator to determine if athletics and other activities may operate in compliance with state, local and tribal health department directives as determined by each community’s most current level of risk.

- Guidance for summer activities
- The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is working on updates to the guidance for youth sports that is currently available on the DHS COVID-19 Community and Faith-Based page. The forthcoming DHS guidance will apply to youth sports for grades 5 and below.

- How about someone who has children and is looking for work? Wisconsin Works (W-2) provides cash assistance to support their family while helping them navigate a job search.

Q&A
Q: Should people with respiratory health issues such as asthma use cloth face coverings?
A: People with pre-existing respiratory illnesses such as asthma or COPD may face breathing difficulties with tight-fitting respirators, however the risk with cloth face coverings is very low as they are not tight around the face.
Anyone with COPD, asthma, or some other chronic respiratory issue should consult with their health care provider before deciding to wear a face covering on a regular basis. Face masks are also not necessary in every setting. The CDC does not recommend wearing face coverings while driving, especially if you are alone in the car. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who is currently having trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

How to Protect Yourself from COVID-19
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating and after going to the bathroom, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
- If you do not have soap and water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Cough or sneeze into an elbow if no tissue is available. Wash your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household disinfectant cleaning spray or wipe.
