Dear Alliance Members:
The COVID-19 pandemic is creating an unprecedented environment for healthcare CPD in the United States and around the world. The Alliance Board of Directors and staff recognize the challenges that you are facing with travel restrictions, remote work, absences due to illness, and family demands as entire school systems close. The advice from medical professionals is that we all need to engage in social distancing from one another, so we are finding new ways to engage with friends, colleagues, and peers. We are all in new territory and the landscape is changing daily. Our first priority is the safety and wellness of the members of our community, their colleagues, and their families.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many live healthcare CPD events. The current CDC recommendation is to limit all gatherings to no more than 50 people, and this may be further reduced in the near future.
As a result, the upcoming Alliance Industry Summit (AIS), scheduled for May 4-6 in Philadelphia will not be held as scheduled.
The Alliance Board is monitoring the situation and considering whether outright cancellation, postponement or an alternative delivery format is the best course of action. We will keep you informed of the path forward as soon as possible.
As your professional home, the Alliance will also focus on serving as a resource and an opportunity to engage with your peers in addressing the unique challenges you are facing as a provider, partner, or supporter of healthcare CPD. Specifically, we have established a
COVID-19 resource page
to focus on challenges relating to providing and supporting CPD in this environment. Items to be shared can be submitted to staff at
and will be curated for applicability. While some resources may be specific to certain member sections, we hope that this information can be adapted and utilized by all who need it. We also recommend you use your community listservs to share questions and best practices.
We encourage all to follow the recommendations of public health officials and continue to stay informed. Your safety and well being are our priority.
